Director-Digital Communications (#983)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director-Digital Communications will be responsible for
framing Digital Commerce initiatives and articulating how this enables our
clients to meet their business goals and objectives.

The Director-Digital Communications will provide technical leadership to web
development teams and be responsible for evaluating and assigning technical
tasks and goals as well as defining and analyzing requirements, developing site
architecture, coordinating project milestones, and technical consultation to the
design group.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

> Advise clients and internal teams on technology issues specifically related to
Digital Commerce
> Understanding and documenting client business and technology requirements
> Work in concert to ensure that the right technical team is assigned to each
project and to manage resources appropriately. 
> Play a leadership role in honing and enhancing the agency''s development
process and seeking continuous improvement in efficiency.
> Stay current with emerging technologies  and contribute to overall interactive
direction of the agency
> Build working relationships with technology partners, ISVs, and other service
companies
> Build long term relationships with clients and industry leaders
> Provide technical direction for the developments, design and system
integration across multiple client engagements from definition phase through
implementation
> Participate in client discussions regarding status and provide technology
insights and recommendations
> Accurately estimate hours and project time needs as well as participate in
requirements definition
> Work closely with agency team to determine daily project status
> Develop client team leadership for complex and/or multiple projects
> Create and maintain functional and technical requirements as well as other
business documentation


QUALIFICATIONS:

> 10 + years of working experience in web development architecture and design
> 7+ years of Internet / new media development experience with technologies such
as Java, J2EE, Oracle, Weblogic, ASP, .Net, Perl, PHP, SQL, Ajax, Flash/Flex,
Ruby-on-Rails, etc. 
> Knowledge and experience of Interactive procedures and workflow models,
various software development life cycle models and creative approaches
> 3+ years managing technical and/or operational teams
> Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
> Extensive experience leading the development of data driven web based
applications
> Able to understand business processes and enable technology solutions to
support client’s business
> Complete knowledge of QA processes from creating test cases, code reviews, and
unit and integration testing
> Successful track record for delivering time sensitive technology projects
> A thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
> Excellent customer focus and awareness of the importance of the customer in a
service organization.
> Experience with web content management system selection, implementation and
maintenance
> Strong analytical and process-oriented skills
> Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams
> Strong knowledge of web technologies, web content management systems, and use
case development.
